Solar Incentive Programs
Maryland Solar Access Program
The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) FY25 Maryland Solar Access Program is provided to help eligible Maryland residents install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to power their homes with clean, affordable, and sustainable energy. This program was established as the “Customer-sited Solar Grant Program” by the Maryland General Assembly’s passage of 2024 S.B. 783, known as the Brighter Tomorrow Act of 2024, and it will improve access to the benefits of solar energy to help ensure that no Marylander is left behind in the clean energy transition.
The Maryland Solar Access Program is offered to Maryland residents who meet the program's income requirements on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each Maryland Solar Access Program grant is provided at
$750 per kWDC, up to a maximum individual grant of
$7,500, in accordance with the Brighter Tomorrow Act.
SREC Trade
We are also a qualified partnered with SRECTrade
United Construction And Restoration (UCANDR) is a qualified partner with SRECTrade, a trusted administrator of Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) markets. For eligible customers, this partnership enables streamlined enrollment and ongoing management of SREC accounts, allowing homeowners and businesses to earn credits based on their system’s solar energy production. These credits can then be sold, offering an additional financial benefit to those who qualify.
An SREC represents one megawatt-hour (1,000 kilowatt-hours) of electricity produced by a solar system. SRECTrade helps system owners participate in these markets by tracking production and facilitating credit sales. The payout for each SREC varies by state, typically ranging from $29 to over $400 per credit, depending on market conditions and regional incentives. This can create a significant, ongoing income stream based solely on clean energy generation — and UCANDR ensures that qualifying customers can access and benefit from this program with confidence and ease.
Residential Clean Energy Credit
The Residential Clean Energy Credit is a federal tax credit that lets you claim 30% of the total cost of a qualified solar energy system on your home. This applies to systems installed between 2022 and 2032. If you install solar in 2033, the credit drops to 26%, and in 2034, it lowers to 22%.
To qualify, your solar system must be installed on a home you own in the United States, and it must be used for residential purposes. This credit helps reduce what you owe on your federal taxes — making solar more affordable for many homeowners.
As a qualified solar installer, United Construction And Restoration (UCANDR) helps ensure your system meets all program requirements so you can take full advantage of this credit. We guide you through the process and provide the documentation needed to claim the incentive when you file your taxes.
